We had a packed house in the Terhune Lab yesterday for dissection and preparation of two snakes (one green tree python and one ball python, both donated to the lab after natural deaths) for our beetle colony. Dissecting the snakes with UArk biology faculty and grad students on hand helped us understand the structures we were looking at. Once cleaned off, the snake skeletons will join our osteology collection for use in research and teaching. Stay tuned for more details on whether the beetles found the snakes tasty!
